The Division 2: How to Get the Chatterbox and Other Exotic Weapons

Exotic Weapons are the highest rarity of weapon you can find in The Division 2 and are special because they come with their own unique talents. They’re marked by a red colour and you’ll have to do special things to obtain them.

It’s worth noting that you can only have one exotic weapon equipt at any one time and that they can be upgraded as you play.

Ruthless[edit]

Ruthless is an exotic rifle which was included as part of the Capitol Defender pack available when originally purchasing The Division 2.

Binary Trigger: This weapon is equipped with a binary trigger that fires on trigger pull and release.

Brutality: While holstered, landing a shot has a 5% chance to deal +20% damage as Explosive Damage.

Lullaby[edit]

This shotgun is also only available in the Capitol Defender pack version of The Division 2.

Lullaby: Landing a melee attack on an enemy after swapping to this weapon grants 35% bonus armour.

Evasive: While equipped, dodging reloads 1% of your current weapon’s magazine.

The Chatterbox[edit]

Required Level: World Tier 4

Crafting[edit]

Unfortunately, you’ll need to have a bit of luck to get all the components to craft this SMG.

You’ll need to gather Hyena keys (a minimum of four but the next part is luck too) from cabinets in underground locations which are a somewhat random event. They refresh every 24 hours so try again another day if you’re unlucky.

You’ll then need to use these keys to unlock Hyena caches. These are found most commonly in the Hyena invaded missions but can also be found in areas with hyena activity. These also refresh every 24 hours.

You’re looking for the following components:

• SMG Loaded Canister
• SMG Creative Magazine
• SMG Modified Mods

And these other materials:

• 30 Polycarbonate
• 22 Titanium
• 69 Reciever Components
• 812 E-Credits

You will also need the blueprint which is only acquired by playing the Bank Headquarters mission on the Challenging difficulty.

You can find the blueprint by interacting with a panel to the left in an office before you enter the vault. This will provide you a key card which can be used to unlock a gate inside the vault. There’s a Hyena cache in here with the blueprint you need.

Incessant Chatter: Every shot landed grants 1% rate of fire to a max of 60%. This resets on reload.

Box Magazine: Kills with this weapon refill 20% of its magazine and grants a buff for 10s. While the buff is active, every shot landed increases magazine capacity by 1 to a max of 60. Killing a target consumes the buff to fully refill the increased magazine.

Blabbermouth: While holstered, reloading your weapon within 5s after a kill grants 20% rate of fire for 10s.

Merciless[edit]

This Rifle can only be gained as a random drop on Challenger difficulty missions. It seems people have relative success finding it by completing the Bank Headquarters and Jefferson Trade Center and getting it as a loot drop.

Binary Trigger: This weapon is equipped with a binary trigger that fires on trigger pull and release.

Guerilla Warfare: Pulling the trigger fires primer rounds that stay embedded in an enemy. Releasing the trigger fires detonator rounds that detonate all primers on the enemy it hits. Each primer detonated gains +75% per primer detonated.

Brutality: While holstered, landing a shot has a 5% chance to deal +20% damage as explosive damage.

Sweet Dreams [edit]

In order to earn this Shotgun, you will need to complete the Roosevelt Island Stronghold on Challenger difficulty.

Sweet Dreams: Landing a melee attack on an enemy after swapping to this weapon grants 35% bonus armour and applies the Sandman debuff. Killing an enemy with the Sandman debuff reapplies the bonus armour.

Sandman: This debuff prevents the enemy from using armour kits and from receiving healing from any source.

Evasive: While equipped, dodging reloads 1% of your current weapon’s magazine.

Kendra’s Liberty[edit]

Required Level: World Tier 1

Crafting[edit]

This first step in making this pistol should be achieved when you first complete the Stronghold on Capitol Hill. Once you defeat Captain Kendra Nelson she will drop the ‘Pistol: Trigger and Mechanism’ crafting material.

You will also want to have a D50 Pistol – the higher tier the better. This is just a random drop so keep an eye out for one as you play.

Next, you’ll want to replay the American History Museum, Viewpoint Muesuem, and Space Administration HQ missions on hard difficulty or higher to get the next components off their bosses.

The pieces you’re looking for are:

• Pistol: Reciever and Paintjob
• Pistol: Sight and Rail
• Pistol: Grip and Tags
• Kendra’s Liberty Blueprint

This will allow you to craft the pistol.

Liberty: Gain +100% damage to hostile electronics. While aiming, enemy weak points and hostile electronics are highlighted.

Blind Justice: After destroying an enemy’s weak point or hostile electronics, your next bullet deals +500% weapon damage. If that shot kills an enemy, your magazine is refilled and grants +100% weapon damage for the entire magazine.

Independence: While holstered, destroying weakpoints refills 20% of your current weapon’s magazine.
