Splatfests are special events in Splatoon 2. Players pick one of two teams before the Splatfest begins, then duke it out in Turf War battles when the time comes. The goal is to win the most amount of games for your team before the event comes to a close. The winning team is announced an hour after the conclusion of the event!
The more you play, the more your ranking grows. See our Splatfest Rankings page for exact titles and their requirements!
During Splatfests stages are played at night instead of the normal daytime. Inkopolis Square is also set at night but is also home to a concert by none other than Pearl and Marina! Prior to a Splatfest, scaffolding and construction can be seen in Inkopolis Square. Splatfests are planned for the next two years.
The Shifty Stage is only available during Splatfest events, and will change between each Splatfest. This will add a bigger variety of stages to play, at least during the Splatfests.

Stages | Manta Marina and Shifty Stage |
Listed below are all the Splatfests from Splatoon 2, including the first Splatfest that started a week before the game was officially released.
The second Splatfest pit Mayonnaise vs Ketchup! The theme was set to be the same worldwide, but the different regions will still be tallied separately. The event lasted a full day of 24 hours. In North America the event started on Friday, August 4 at 9:00 PM PT and went on until 9:00 PM PT on Saturday, August 5.
In addition to having its own map rotation, this splatfest also introduced a new exclusive map – Shifty Station, and is said to be able to transform its layout between Splatfests.
Curiously, it appears that each team will also shoot ink that matches the color of their team: Team Ketchup with red ink, while Team Mayonnaise shot off-white ink.

The first Splatfest will run from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM PT on July 15, 2017. The stage rotations include Starfish Mainstage and Inkblot Art Academy from 3-5PM, and Moray Towers and Humpback Pump Track from 5-7PM.
This Splatfest is part of the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire before the game releases on July 21st, and is free to play for all Switch owners. Because it is part of demo, players will be able to choose from a pre-set list of weapon loadouts – which you can see below:
