Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fifth game in the series, released exclusively on Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018. Every previous Smash character has been added to the roster in addition to new fighters like the Inkling, Daisy, and Ridley.
This Smash Bros. Ultimate Guide contains everything you need to learn the ins and outs of every fighter, unlock your favorites, and make your way through the game’s single player modes.
Sakurai revealed at E3 2018 that every previous character in Smash Bros. history will be returning as playable fighters in Smash Bros. Ultimate – including 3rd party characters like Snake, and characters that were retired like Ice Climbers and Wolf. Almost all of the Stages will return as well, and each one will have a Final Destination and Battlefield variant.
Many returning Characters have also been tweaked – some more than others. Link now sports his Breath of the Wild attire, with Remote Bombs to match. Mario now has Cappy from Super Mario Odyssey, and costumes from that game are available.
Sakurai also revealed that only the original 8 characters from the first Smash Bros. will be available from the start, but to get all 67+ fighters, many will be Unlockables in rapid succession.
