If Sennheiser‘s new earbuds for audiophiles are too far outside of your budget, the company has a new, cheaper alternative: the CX 7.00BT. These Bluetooth earbuds are designed for everyday listening, according to the company, which went with a neckband design for this model. Among the model’s many notable features is the inclusion of NFC for single-touch device pairing.
As with many competing models, the CX 7.00BT Bluetooth earbuds feature a microphone and controls for taking calls while they’re paired to a smartphone. Sennheiser says this model offers enhanced bass, as well, dishing out the type of audio most consumers prefer. Joining the NFC is Bluetooth 4.1 and support for Qualcomm’s apt-X.
If there’s an occasion where wired audio is preferred, this model supports USB audio using the USB cable that Sennheiser includes with the headphones. This model also boasts 10 hours of battery life on a charge, which is in the upper tier as far as wireless earbuds go. The model can also be fully charged in 1.5 hours.
As with the company’s other newly announced earbuds, this model has support for up to two devices at once, one example being a smartphone and a laptop simultaneously. The unit also supports three-way calling and has voice prompts for when a call comes in. The model ships with four different ear tips to make sure they fit differently sized ear canals.
