SEMA 2016: Ford Teases Custom Mustangs and Fusions

[ad_1]

You can always count on the Ford Motor Company to go big at the SEMA show and 2016 is no exception. Four of the tricked out F-150s that they will be showcasing at this year’s show made the rounds last week and now it’s time for a peek at some of the Mustang builds. There’s also a pair of fancy Ford Fusions joining the scene.

1. First up is a 2017 Mustang GT concept that has been modified by VMP Performance. Fitted with a Gen II-R 2.3-liter TVS supercharger, this pony makes 851 horsepower and 703 lb-ft of torque. This jet fighter gray ride with matte black wheels and a pin-up gal perched above the front wheel well is a salute to the Air Force and it looks like it is ready for a bombing run down the Las Vegas Strip.

2. Next we have Stitchcraft’s Pearl Candy Orange drop-top concept that seems to be a throw back to the 1990s. All the Mustang concepts seen here have lighted pony grilles, but this crafty convertible also sports an old school roll bar and a jet-black custom interior. It should look right at home cruising down Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. Just don’t forget to bring the sun tan lotion and plenty of hair gel.

3. The carbon fiber body kit by Speedkore helps transform the next Mustang GT concept into a radical supercar, while a 5.0-liter V-8 engine with Whipple Stage2 supercharger helps push the output up to 825 horsepower. Thankfully, it has a set of carbon ceramic brakes to help slow it down. This muscle car will look good making hot laps on the Nurburgring and we’d love to get behind the wheel for a spin.

4. MRT went to town and back again with this blacked-out fastback Mustang that features custom Candy Cherry paint accents. It packs a perky 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine coupled with a Vortech supercharger and bills itself as the ultimate concept in sport touring. We’re sold on the car’s stylish looks, color, and not so subtle use of carbon trim, though the super tinted windows will get you pulled over in most states.

5. CJ Pony Parts created a killer Mustang concept in Stealth Gray with Acid Green trim. It also has a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine beneath its hood packed with plenty of Ford Performance parts. A stainless steel Borla exhaust also helps lift this pony up a few notches.

6. If you are looking for old school looks with modern flare, don’t miss the 1966 Ford Shelby GT350 by Revology Cars. This licensed reproduction attempts to capture the look and feel of the iconic 1966 Shelby Mustang. Upgrades include the Mustang GT’s 435-horsepower 5.0-liter Coyote V-8. LED lights, electronic gauges, infotainment and navigation systems help complete the ride.

7. Webasto Thermo & Comfort North America crafted a 2017 Fusion Sport concept with Kevlar components and a heat extractor hood. A Ballistic White custom paint job with lime green trim by MRT Performance is a stealthy sleeper of a ride.

8. Last but not least, Legacy Innovation will showcase a twin-turbo powered Deep Blue Fusion with a custom-built carbon fiber hood. A subtle lower lip and fascia add an aesthetic flair and, says the builder, provide the car with improved aerodynamics. It looks pretty stock to us, but hey, we all can’t drive souped-up Mustangs.

Over 50 Fords can be seen at the SEMA trade show in Las Vegas on November 1-4. Stay tuned for plenty more custom rides to come.
