Reader Discussion – Do You Listen To Game Soundtracks When Not Playing?

[ad_1]

For my entire life, I’ve been a big fan of the music that often accompanies our most memorable gaming moments. Growing up, I adored the soundtracks from series like Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, and The Legend of Zelda, but I never really thought of them outside of the context of those games.

In recent years, I’ve begun listening to game soundtracks more and more when I’m not playing. I’ve added musical collections from games like Final Fantasy X, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U/3DS, and Overwatch to my phone. I’ve found that when I put these soundtracks on in the background, they not only help me focus, but they immediately make me want to go play through these games all over again.

Do you ever listen to video game soundtracks when you’re not playing? If so, which soundtracks do you tend to go for? Does hearing the soundtrack make you want to play the game again? Do you ever listen to soundtracks to games you’ve never played, or played and weren’t a fan of?
