No Man’s Sky’s First Community Event Is Out Now

[ad_1]

Hello Games relaunched No Man’s Sky a little over a month ago with the free Next Update, and while the new additions have been well-received by fans, the developer has no intentions of slowing down. In a development update, Hello Games announced that today marks the start of No Man’s Sky’s first season of continued support, which comes in the form of weekly content updates and community events.

The first community event tasks players with excavating “strange objects” for an NPC character named Specialist Polo. The bug-eyed robot will pay players in a new currency called Quicksilver, which can be used to purchase a variety of new base parts, decals, character customization options, and even a “Mind Blown” emote that may look familiar to G.I. fans. The post also states that more collectible items will be introduced in the following weeks, and that future community events will “grow in functionality.” Here’s a picture of some of the first items players can collect.
