China’s Lenovo Group confirmed that Jiang Zhen, former executive of Samsung, has joined Lenovo as vice president and will be responsible for the product strategy and product management of its mobile business group in China, covering product portfolio, product planning and operation.

With the joining of Jiang, Lenovo’s vice president Chang Cheng will have a position adjustment. Chang will focus on the construction of software and hardware ecosystem. Both Chang and Jiang will report to Qiao Jian, Lenovo Group’s senior vice president and co-president of mobile business group.

On November 3, 2016, Lenovo Group announced that their human resources head Qiao Jian would replace Chen Xudong to be head of mobile business group. Over the following three months, Qiao had been adjusting the China region of mobile business group and Jiang is the first executive to have joined Lenovo after the appointment of Qiao.

Commenting on the joining of Jiang, Qiao said in an internal open letter that Jiang has experience in the product planning sector, a global vision, and practical experience in the Chinese local market. Qiao believes that Jiang’s insight, innovation spirit and user thinking about product and market will lift Lenovo’s product competitiveness in China to the next level.

Jiang previously worked at several units in Samsung’s Korean headquarters, including its communications research institute, product research and development unit, and product marketing unit. In the product planning sector, Jiang’s extensive experience will help Lenovo realize new product planning.
