The Hologram Projector is a very clever little gizmo! It’s designed to make solid objects appear to hover over the holographic projectior in the form of a 3D hologram or a 3D projection when it is in fact a 2D object! It’s an optical illusion disguised as a holographic 3D image and it’ll keep you grasping away at thin air for hours! The hologram chamber is made up of two curved dishes with mirrors on the inside and a hole in the centre of the top dish. Place a small object such as a penny in the centre of the 3D hologram projector and the light that hits the object is reflected in the concave mirrors inside the hologram chamber again and again. It’s the effect of having the two curved mirrors close together that creates so many reflections. The hole at the top of the chamber allows the light to escape and the reflected light combines from all angles acting as a 3D projector and to appear as though it is reflecting from a solid object floating on the centre of the Hologram Projector. Clever or what???
