Champions League and new gameplay revealed.

At EA Play today, EA officially revealed FIFA 19 and confirmed that it will be released on September 28, 2018.

FIFA 19 will include a Champions League mode (a license recently lost by football game rival, Pro Evolution Soccer), and will also add the Europa League and UEFA Super Cup. All of these modes will be available in all versions of the game, including on Nintendo Switch.

The Champions League mode will include the real-world tournament and custom tournament options that let players take any European team into the competition.

A trailer was shown featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr., who will be the game’s cover stars:

In a press release, EA revealed that single-player campaign mode The Journey will return for a “finale” to the Alex Hunter storyline that began in FIFA 17. Called The Journey: Champions, Alex Hunter will aim to win the Champions League – it will still seemingly only be available on PC, Xbox One and PS4, with now Switch equivalent.

Following up on the free World Cup update last month, EA also announced that FIFA 18 will be free for a limited time to allow more players to try out the new mode.

You can already preorder the PC version of FIFA 19 today and PS4, Xbox One, and Switch preorders should be coming soon.
