Fortnite Port a Fort Trailer, Update, and Information

[ad_1]

The Port a Fort is a new item in Fortnite Battle Royale. It resembles a cube, and when thrown, creates a fort. You can see the Port a Fort trailer below.

In the trailer, two players corner a solo player behind a haystack. After a moment of thought, the solo player looks at a gray and blue glowing cube – the Port a Fort – and launches it.

The Port a Fort turns into a large structure made of metal, the strongest material. It looks to be made of a column two squares high with stairs that enable players to climb to the top, where there are ramps.

The duo who had cornered the solo player stops in awe, with the solo player standing triumphantly on their newly made high-ground.

So far, there is no information as to when the new Port a Fort will be added to Fortnite Battle Royale.  All we know is that it will be coming “Soon,” which was announced on April 10, 2018.

The Port a Fort is, basically, a portable fort. The blue and gray cube will deploy a fort, which shape is apparent on the cube. We assume it can be thrown like a grenade, and build from there.

The Port a Fort is made of metal, the strongest material in Fortnite Battle Royale. The Port a Fort seems to construct faster than manually made metal structures, but it is not an instant pop-up. This may enable enemies to shoot it down before it’s even finished being constructed.

The structure shown in the trailer is one column two cubes high with a ramp-made funnel at the top. This doesn’t seem the most practical, as if a ramp you’re standing on is destroyed, you will plummet to the floor below. Additionally, you cannot see or shoot at the ground right in front of the door from the top of the funnel.

Because the image of the fort shape is apparent on the cube before building, we’re guessing there may be multiple types of Port a Forts, but again, this is purely speculation.

PC Fortnite players can build forts manually at break-neck speed, and console players are pretty fast at building as well, but for Fortnite players on mobile, building is an incredibly difficult, slow chore. The Port a Fort will enable mobile players a much easier way to build.

On console and PC, the Port a Fort an also be used as a crutch for players who haven’t gotten used to Fortnite’s building mechanics, but we assume advanced players may be able to outbuild a Port a Fort user when confronted with one.
