The showdown for Westeros is ramping up in this new trailer.

HBO has released a new trailer showcasing what to expect when Games of Thrones’ seventh season debuts on July 16.

Warning: Major spoilers for Games of Thrones season 6 and minor spoilers for the upcoming season 7 to follow.

The trailer shows what’s become the three main characters of HBO’s fantasy drama walking through the empty halls of castles and keeps, before ascending their respective thrones or seats of authority.

What’s interesting is that while we know Jon Snow is in Winterfell, and takes his place at the head of the table in the great hall, and Cersei, the newly crowned queen of the Seven Kingdoms takes her place on the Iron Throne in the Red Keep at King’s Landing, we see a new location for Daenerys Targaryen, First of Her Name, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Queen of Meereen, and Khaleesi of the Great Green Sea.

When we last saw Dany at the end of season 6, she was with her armada, her armies, and her dragons making the voyage across the Narrow Sea toward Westeros. In this new trailer, we see her ascend the steps of and sit the throne of Dragonstone.

That’s important for two reasons: first, it means she’s made the voyage across the Narrow Sea successfully. Secondly, it means she now has a foothold in Westeros from which to launch her military and cultural campaigns.

But it’s also important to note that the fortified island of Dragonstone, which is just off the eastern coast of the continent, is the Targaryen ancestral seat. So in a way, Daenerys Targaryen has finally made it home.

Before the end of the trailer we see Cersei exhale cold breath, indicating that even in King’s Landing, the chill of winter is setting in throughout the realm. Finally, we see a close up of the ever-watching eye of the Night King looking on, presumably with the rest of the gang in his sights.
